What to do with used 'ang pow'?

If you're an avid traveller, then this is the perfect idea for you.  I usually keep all my notes and coins in the same pouch.  Albeit organised, but still cumbersome when I have to pick out the right currency when I'm beckoned to travel.  I keep the Japanese Yen in a separate wallet altogether to save trouble, but the rest was just... :S urgh, especially when it's difficult to differentiate between Cambodian and Thai coins :P

So, here you go.  I'm reusing the 'ang pow' packets from last Chinese New Year to categorise them into countries.  The packets are deep enough to also keep coins, so there you go :) No more picking the wrong notes and getting stranded in a foreign land!

New business model.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update.  As of March 17th, 2012, we've decided to split the sales proceed to 70:30.  70% of the proceeds will be used for charity while 30% will be used to cover any operational fee to maintain this project.  To be honest with you, I'm not sure if this is an optimum split, but we will see.  As we've discussed before, in order for this project to grow into long-term sustainability, it cannot survive on 100% donation.  I hope you guys understand and will continue supporting The Good Samaritan's vision :) I'm thinking of revamping the website to optimize its array of wonderful products-for-a-good-cause.  So I hope if sales are good, we'll get to redesign this website faster.  But if you're a Good Samaritan yourself and would like to donate your skills to us, we'll be eternally grateful! :D Please be in touch!

DiGi WWWOW Awards 2012: Nominated for Online Shop of the Year!

I got another nice surprise email today!  Looks like this little project has inspired a few really good Samaritans ;) Just last week we announced that we've been nominated for MOST INSPIRING INTERNET FOR GOOD AWARD 2012 and today, I was notified that there's another nomination for Online Shop of the Year! :O
